I liked this story. Definitely resonates.
My goodness you have done well with your quest, although quite apparently, not without hard work and dedication. Best wishes for completing your goal. And what a trout to get to within sniffing distance of your prize.. A wonderfully written story, it had me salivating at the prospect of hitting the water again, closed season here at present.
