The Avon at Durnsford looked glorious in the mid morning sunshine, today. The water was coloured and flies, few. I only saw one rise which I think was a small grayling. I fished for a couple of hours before the showers came, and blanked. Me! An April Fool ? Nah!! It was lovely to be in the water, if only for some casting practice.

Wonderful photo! And congratulations on reaching your 100,000!!! Patrici and Albert
better to cast a fly in vain than to sit at home dreaming of casting a fly in vain…
A wise man, indeed! And it was beautiful until the rains came…not too many fish caught on Opening Day on the Avon, I understand,
but my Taff fishing friends seem to have fared better in March, although further north, the Usk and Wye seem both to be largely unfishable, just yet
