You may not know this Tony, but that ad was shot in South Africa and I did the casting for it. The location of “The Pub” was actually in Grayton outside of Cape Town, in a place called “The Posthouse”, and the window was especially manufactured as the real window was actually too big. During the filming I did hook the keys off the bar by “accident” . The reason they are all “desperate not to miss the rugby game” is because you cannot suggest in an ad that the patrons are urgently in need of a drink. …. 🙂
Small world, Tim!
Thanks for taking the trouble to write…and it is a good Ad, and better than what I have seen from my old firm for a while. Though I don’t know where it is being screened…Bells #1 or 2 in the UK (and I understand, a notable brand in SA?)
Best wishes
OK Tony, there’s your next challenge!
And please confirm – this ad did not require any location scouting trips by marketing/sales, right?
